Sometimes people do not feel ready to engage in a formal assessment or make a commitment to therapy, but would like to discuss their particular situation and gain information about their options.. I am always happy to meet with anyone who wishes to have a confidential discussion about their own challenges.
In some cases, family members and loved ones wish to have the opportunity to speak confidentially about their own feelings and this is also welcomed if my primary client is in agreement. In many cases the family members and loved ones are asking for education about a particular condition, not personal information about the specific client. When working with family members it is important to understand that everyone's privacy is protected as needed and no information is shared without the express permission of each individual. The only exception to this rule is when there is a significant safety concern.
