Psychotherapy:   $200 per hour 
Consultation:  $200 per hour  ($250 per hour if it involves legal issues and requires letters/reports)
Youth Assessment $200 per hr, length depending on complexity 
Hormone Assessments (Adult) ($600, includes 2 sessions x 90 min  & report)
Surgery Assessment ($300 - 90 min. & report).  

BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT 
You can use the online appointment scheduler to book an appointment.  If none of the times available work for you, you can email [email protected] to arrange for a different time. If you would like to speak to Dr. Preece by phone, please send an email with your number and the best time to reach you.  If you are a previous client who wants to see me again for another purpose, go ahead and book an appointment, but send me a message through the Client Portal secure messaging system and let me know the reason for the meeting request. 

Please note that email is not a secure medium and therefore the confidentiality of communications by email cannot be guaranteed.  Also, gy using the Client Portal I have an easily accessible record of our communications.

MEETINGS
Sessions are 60-minutes in length, unless otherwise stated.  For assessment appointments, a 90-minute session is preferred.  Once an appointment is scheduled, you will be expected to pay for it unless you provide 24 hours advance notice of cancellation or we both agree that you were unable to attend due to circumstances beyond your control.  

COMMUNICATION
I am not usually immediately available by phone.  If you wish to speak with me over the phone, please send me a message to that effect or book a telephone appointment through the Client Portal.  As messages through the portal provide an email notification, it is important that you check your email at least daily (and your spam folder!).  If you do not receive a reply to a message you have send, please resend, as I am sometimes quite busy and a reminder is always appreciated!  Also please note that as a small part-time private practice I am not able to offer crisis care. If you are feeling unsafe, please contact your family physician or go to the nearest emergency room. 

A NOTE ABOUT TEXT MESSAGING
You are invited to text 604-831-4444 if you are running late for an appointment, or are having difficulty using the intercom. Please do not abuse that privilege by using text messaging for other types of communication.  Secure message through the client portal can be used for questions of a more personal nature.  However, some issues are most productively addressed  either by telephone or in face-to-face communication.

PROFESSIONAL FEES
The hourly rate is $200.00.   Sliding scale arrangements based on ability to pay are available for longer-term psychotherapy.  Please be sure to make any requests for a reduced fee before booking your appointment.  In addition to sessions, other professional services you may require, including report-writing, telephone conversations longer than 10 minutes, attendance at meetings with other professionals at your request, preparation of letters, etc., will be charged at the pro-rated hourly rate.  If you become involved in a legal proceeding that requires my participation, you will be expected to pay for the time involved, even if the request is made by another party.

BILLING AND PAYMENTS
After each session, your invoice will be available in your Client Portal account.  The amount due will be charged to your credit card or bank through the account.  After payment is made you can retrieve your receipts from your Client Portal account.

INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT
In order for us to set realistic treatment goals and priorities, it is important to evaluate what resources you have available to pay for your treatment.  If you have an extended health insurance policy, it will usually provide some coverage for psychological services. It is your responsibility to find out what the requirements are for reimbursement.  I will fill out forms and provide you with whatever assistance I can in helping you receive the benefits to which you are entitled.  However, you (not your insurance company) are responsible for full payment of the fees. 

Most Extended Benefits programs include reimbursement for Psychological Services.  Dr. Preece is also registered as a health provider with Medavie Blue Cross for Veterans Affairs, RCMP, Canadian Armed Forces, Interim Federal Health Program, etc.
